How to Care for Your Gemstones
Natural stones are meant to be worn. They just need a little care.
Gemstones aren’t manufactured to look identical.
Their colour, texture and surface are part of what makes them beautiful — but it also means they need to be treated with some consideration.
The good news?
Looking after your JC jewellery is simple.
Keep it away from water
Try not to wear your jewellery while swimming, showering or bathing.
Salt water and chlorine can affect certain stones and metals, while prolonged exposure to moisture can weaken threads, cords or other components.
Perfume comes first
Apply perfume, moisturiser, sunscreen and other products before putting your jewellery on.
Give them a moment to settle into your skin before wearing your piece.
Store it properly
When you’re not wearing your jewellery, keep it somewhere dry and away from direct sunlight.
If possible, store individual pieces separately. This helps prevent beads and metal components from rubbing against each other.
Give it a gentle clean
If your jewellery needs a little refresh, use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
Avoid harsh jewellery cleaners unless we specifically recommend one for your piece. Some gemstones can react badly to strong chemicals.
And remember…
Natural stones can change subtly over time.
A pearl may develop a different lustre. A stone may show tiny variations in colour. These changes aren’t necessarily damage ; they’re part of the life of a natural material.
Your jewellery is not meant to stay untouched in a box.
Wear it.
Just give it the care it deserves.
