jewels crest began in jaipur, a city that has been working with stone and metal for generations. we didn't set out to reinvent that — we wanted to learn from it.
every piece we make starts with the stone. we source turquoise, coral, citrine, pearl and other natural and semi-precious materials by hand, often in person, from dealers we've come to know over time. no two strands run quite the same, because the stones themselves aren't identical, and we'd rather work with that than against it.
our pieces are set in 18k gold-plated brass, made by hand on our jaipur bench. we describe every material honestly — what it is, how it's treated, what to expect from it — because we think that's owed to anyone wearing something we made.
we're a small team. every necklace that leaves jaipur has been touched by hands that know the material, not a production line. that's slower, and we're fine with that.
